Our morning was filled with pancakes, teamwork, and volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) in Central Ohio.

On Friday, May 10th, we woke up extra early and headed into Columbus to prepare breakfast at the local RMHC. RMHC provides accommodations for sick children and their families who are traveling for treatment. For no-cost they offer, rooms for sleep and stay, meals and kitchenettes, play rooms, and more. Anything that is needed to ensure a comfortable stay for children and their families.

We participated in the “Team Cuisine” volunteering program, where we made breakfast for around 100 people staying in the house. All food was stocked and the kitchen was organized, thanks to the helpful Chef Blair. Chef Blair helps volunteers like us, learn our way around a kitchen. We were able to set up a pancake bar, and serve eggs, bacon, and yogurt. It was truly humbling to see each family enter, and grab a plate.

We are thankful for everything that The Ronald McDonald House Charities provides. Our experience was awesome and we will definitely be back again.
